The Clinical Education department builds relationships with community health care providers to create unique and challenging clinical placement sites for our students. The Clinical Experience Liaison will identify these opportunities for our prelicensure nursing students across four programs. Responsibilities include:

The Clinical Experience Liaison will identify these opportunities for our prelicensure nursing students across four programs. Responsibilities include:
Clinical sites
- Coordinate clinical placements for prelicensure students in the Nursing Programs.
- Lead planning with program faculty to determine future clinical needs based on curriculum and enrollment changes and emerging student learning needs.
- Initiates the development of new sites and expands St. Kate’s reach in the community and the state, exploring new opportunities for clinical placements.
- Builds a positive relationship and image for St. Catherine University,HSSH, and School of Nursing in the community.
- Within Clinical Education, provide a team–based, one-stop resource for students related to preparation and requirements for clinical experiences.
- Facilitate student learning in assigned courses by:
- providing information about requirements for specific clinical settings,
- collaborating to address students’ concerns to appropriate persons and
- ensuring an adequate number of high quality clinical sites.
- As part of a team, coordinate completion of onboarding requirements for clinical settings, monitor compliance with clinical requirements and ensure that materials, directions, and site information are regularly updated and accessible and that all data is accurately tracked.
- Work with clinical education staff to develop and maintain databases/materials in the St. Catherine University course management system/Student Passport for each clinical facility that includes critical information required by faculty and students and makes this information available to program of study coordinators, faculty, and students.
- Cultivate ongoing communication with clinical facilities to obtain information about their experience with our faculty and students.
- Analyze assessment and evaluative data and makes recommendations regarding changes in system processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of student learning in clinical and practicum settings, providing feedback to clinical and community agencies.
- Works vigorously to improve the process for clinical placements, compliance, and onboarding for students.
- Collaborates with program of study directors and coordinators, course coordinators, Clinical education team members, and other support staff to secure and evaluate clinical requests and student and faculty compliance with clinical and onboarding requirements.
- Continuously improve role efficiency to better meet the needs of students, faculty and staff, and community partners, building and promoting positive relationships.

Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in nursing at the bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral level.
- Current and unencumbered license as a nurse in the State of Minnesota.
- Knowledge of or experience in clinical nursing practice within the past five years.
- Knowledge of clinical experience requirements for nursing students.
- Experience communicating respectfully and effectively with colleagues and community partners.
- Experience prioritizing and troubleshooting complex problems.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of St. Catherine University and the School of Nursing curriculum
- Experience using a variety of databases and learning management systems.
- Connected within the Minnesota healthcare community or comfortable creating new healthcare community connections for the purpose of clinical experiences for nursing students.
