Overview
Coach undergraduate, graduate students, and alumni in the Career Clusters: STEM, and Health Science (Pre-Health). Facilitate workshops covering topics on career exploration, interviewing, networking, job/internship search techniques, and graduate/professional school preparation. Analyze and interpret career assessment results and incorporate in career coaching sessions. Provide career development support and ongoing training to Peer Career Advising team related to Career Cluster trends each semester.
Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Career Coaching and Facilitation | Coach students and facilitates engaging workshops regarding career exploration, preparation, interviewing, networking and job/internship search techniques within STEM and Health Science (Pre-Health) career fields. Analyze and interpret career assessment results and incorporate in career counseling and coaching sessions.
- Marketing and Outreach | Promotes and markets University Career Services (UCS) services such as Cougar Pathway, Focus 2, Career Assessments, VMock Smart Resume, and CareerShift to engage students/alumni participation. Responsible for supporting the marketing, and outreach of UCS career fairs, mixers (Women in STEM), and featured weeks (STEM Careers Week and STEM Career Fair) to students and alumni in partnership with the employer development and relations team.
- Project Management | Manages projects and events relevant to the Career Clusters: STEM, and Health Science (Pre-Health) from inception to implementation while promoting University Career Services (UCS) services such as Cougar Pathway to engage students and alumni.
- Campus Collaboration and Partnerships | Collaborates with faculty, staff, and academic advising liaisons within academic affairs and the division of student affairs and enrollment services; along with other on-campus and off-campus partners, organizations, student organizations, and employers to provide students with relevant resources and information.
- Student Employee Career Development and Training | Provides career development support and ongoing training to Peer Career Advising team related to Career Cluster trends each semester.
- Professional Development | Stays abreast of relevant labor market trends, and salary resources through active participation in related national, local, and/or regional professional associations. Engages in continuing education, trainings, and on-going professional development opportunities.
- Assessment and Evaluation | Manages and evaluates career
coaching services and programs; prepares monthly status reports;
strategically recommends and implements improvements to
services.

- Good working knowledge of the career management technology platforms such as Symplicity or other candidate tracking system (CRM, Handshake, etc).
- Experience in marketing, communications and/or outreach to diverse student populations
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office including SharePoint, and MS Teams. As well as creative marketing tools, publisher, Canva, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities and changes in a fast-paced environment; problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit strong project management and program coordination of career related programs.
- Position may involve evening presentations and events.
Masters and 1 year experience
Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience
