Preference will be given to individuals who possess :
• Master’s degree Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling or a related field
• Experience developing, implementing and evaluating co-curricular programs
• Experience developing, implementing and evaluating programing for first-year students
• Experience with budget management
• Experience leading one or more student development office(s), preferably in Career Services, Campus Life and Leadership, New Student Programs, Office of Student Involvement or Student Activities
• Experience using technology to support student engagement
• Experience leading diverse teams and working with diverse student populations Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Incumbents provide direction and supervision of student engagement, campus life and leadership, and career services functions.

• Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; providing ongoing professional development for staff; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.
• Develops and/or oversees the implementation of recruitment, admissions, testing center, student success, enrollment, records, and other operational strategies and initiatives; work may involve developing and implementing plans and strategies, analyzing data and tracking metrics to evaluate plans and programs, and coordinating program operations to ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
• Develops and monitors an assigned budget; work may involve monitoring expenditures, analyzing financial information to determine trends, and approving purchase and other financial requests; monitors fiscal records and processes to ensure compliance with budget and other applicable guidelines.
• Prepares, maintains, reviews, updates, and/or coordinates the preparation and maintenance of records, reports, and other documentation; work may involve researching and analyzing data, making recommendations based on findings, and ensuring that reporting complies with applicable policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with enrollment management staff, administrators, division chairs, faculty, the marketing and public relations department, and other internal/external staff, departments, and agencies; serves as a liaison; and attends committee and other meetings to represent the department, communicate specialized and general information, provide recommendations, develop recruitment and enrollment communications and marketing plans, develop strategies to improve operational processes and service delivery, and/or facilitate related operations in the assigned functional area.

Specific Position Duties:
• Oversee the development and assessment of outside-the-classroom engagement opportunities for students.
• Work collaboratively with college stakeholders to identify strategies, improve the effectiveness, and evaluate the first year experience initiatives and services.
• Coordinate components of a student engagement plan, working collaboratively with college stakeholders such as academic departments, counseling, enrollment services, campus life, career services, and other units to reinforce a holistic approach to student success.
• Oversee and ensure effective development and management of unit budgets; ensure compliance with all relevant college, state and institutional policies and procedures.
• Direct and facilitate ongoing training and process improvement related to constituent relationship management software and other technology used to facilitate student success and engagement.
• Coordinate retention and engagement initiatives for all students, plus specific student cohorts including: military-affiliated students, students from diverse backgrounds, international students, scholarship recipients, at risk students, honors students, student athletes, adult students, and other targeted groups.
• Coordinate with appropriate district and campus marketing and public information staff to ensure accurate and timely communications are effectively disseminated to promote the services and programs related to student engagement.
• Maintain appropriate records and files in compliance with MCC policies and other state/federal regulations.
• Ensures programs are effectively coordinated and managed to maximize student learning and development as outlined in CAS (Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education).
• Assist the Dean and other managers with student conduct, student concerns, and other issues as needed. Knowledge

• Exercising independent judgment and discretion;
• Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information. Positions Supervised Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
