A full-time College faculty is responsible for instruction, assessment, advising, committee work, and service to the College. Other duties may include grant management, research, or specific academic endeavors. A College faculty is critical in creating, maintaining, assessing, and reflecting upon a learning environment where academic discipline interweaves with the College mission to support student learning and the Dine Education Philosophy.
Instruction and curriculum. Times, days, and site(s) for teaching of courses vary and mode of delivery may include distance education. As a multisite college, faculty may be required to teach at satellite centers. Needs Assessment of college, workforce and community to inform development of additional courses, modification of existing courses, and bachelors degree program in public health. Work with other faculty, Dean, and Provost to network with other institutions to articulate pubic health coursework and to design a collaborative framework with other schools of public health to design implement and enhance the program at the College towards ultimate sustainability.
Must have the background and experience to teach undergraduate public health courses, to include expertise in at least one of the subdisciplines of health promotion, epidemiology/biostatistics, environmental health, global health, Indigenous research methods, family/child health, health services, health policy or public heath practice.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Masters or Ph.D Degree. Must be in public health, biology or related discipline areas. Experience - 2 years of college level teaching.
Preferred: DrPH or doctoral degree in Public Health-related area. Experience to include mentoring undergraduate in research and/or service learning.
