Purpose of Position
The AACSB -accredited Haile/US Bank College of Business serves over 3,000 of NKU’s 15,000 students with a full complement of traditional degree programs, plus several nationally recognized centers and specialized programs. The college is also home to the Haile Student Managed Investment Fund ( HSIF ). The HSIF was launched in 2011 as part of a $15 million gift from the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation. This position has the autonomy to make decisions that will have a direct impact on the culture, brand, and image of the NKU Center for Economic Education, which represents the Haile College of Business and NKU .

As a non-tenure track temporary position this assignment will teach two classes per year and report to the Accounting/Economics/Finance Chairperson for teaching requirements. This position does not have any publication requirements.

This position also reports to the Executive Director of Outreach and Engagement. As the Director of the Center for Economic Education you will provide strategic leadership to staff and student workers to achieve NKU objectives and Center goals and to lead growth, development and success of the Center.

The Center Director will represent NKU to the community on a wide variety of business-related issues, and actively engages with business-related organizations and agencies throughout the region.

  • Teaching 50%
  • Fundraising and Grants 20%
  • Programs 30%
· Interact with and understand the unique needs of the school districts and municipalities we serve;
· Effectively communicate the purpose and develop the strategic direction of this organization;
· Raise the funds necessary to execute the business plan;
· Evaluate the impact of core programs, manage the finances; and, and work closely with the Haile College of Business Outreach.

Working Conditions
  • The primary work environment is an on-campus office, 12 months per year.
  • Due to events, meetings and professional development, this position will be required to travel (primarily locally and regionally) 15 – 20% of the work time, sometimes outside of normal work hours.
Qualifications
• Successful fundraising experience, managing a budget, advanced MS Office skills, and the ability to travel within the state and work occasional nights and weekends.

• Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation

• Strong fiscal management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting

• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and social and ethnic backgrounds

• Detail orientated, diplomatic with an ability to exercise discretion and maintain privacy, critical thinking skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, prepare, and deliver professional presentations

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Previous teaching experience

Minimum Education: MBA, or a master’s degree in business, economics, education or a related field
