Fairleigh Dickinson University Sport Management program on the Florham campus is hiring adjuncts for the Fall 2022 term. We are looking for instructors for the following courses:
SPAD 2012 – Nutrition and Wellness (Monday/Thursday 10:00 – 11:15 am)
This course explores the theoretical and practical aspects of nutrition and its relationship to wellness. Topics include nutrition and disease, physical fitness, weight management, stress management, addictions, and lifestyle and its relationship to wellness.
SPAD 2017 – First Aid, CPR, and Injury Prevention (Monday/Thursday 8:30 – 9:45 am) This course will investigate how injuries can be prevented or reduced in the sports environment. The course will also address how to provide first aid if an individual is injured.
SPAD 3001 – Coaching Theory and Practice (Wednesday 8:30 – 11:10 am)
This course examines the challenges of the coaching profession and provides an overview of the concepts that are essential in the preparation of sport coaches. Students evaluate the current theoretical perspectives and critically examine the current research in coaching sports. Topics include developing a coaching philosophy, evaluating theories in motivation, understanding team dynamics, communicating effectively, and improving player performance.
All courses are scheduled to run in-person at the times/days posted above. Given the short notice and depending on the instructor’s background, changes could be made. Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have an advance degree (master’s or doctorate) in sport management, nutrition, coaching, exercise science, or related field and 1 – 2 years of teaching experience. Will substitute teaching experience for practical experience.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
