ATTENTION:

The Mathematics Team in the College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater seeks a full-time Academic Staff Lecturer in Mathematics, (Lecturer, TL020).The position will start Fall 2022 for the 2022-23 academic year.

This will be a fixed term appointment. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, and external forces.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Master’s Degree in Mathematics or a related field
  • 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics
Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience teaching developmental and lower-division college mathematics or co-requisite support courses
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching:
  • Teaching assignments will be primarily courses below the level of calculus
  • Instruction is scheduled for face to face sections on the UW-Whitewater at Rock County campus in Janesville, WI
  • Instructor will hold at least three weekly office hours on the UW-Whitewater at Rock Country campus.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Instructor will monitor and participate in regular communication with students and staff via the learning management system and via email
  • Instructor will participate in training and development events offered by the campus and the department
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The Department of Integrated Studies is a multi-disciplinary department of dedicated educators--currently more than 40 full and part-time faculty and instructional academic staff. The department is located in Janesville at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County branch campus (known informally as “U Rock.”) The College of Integrated Studies enrolls approximately 700 students who are completing the first two years of their undergraduate program. The department offers the Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree as well as the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree.
