Be yourself and start your career here. Help us build a better Brockport! Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Mental Health Counselor - Substance Abuse. The person in this role is responsible for providing a wide range of direct mental health and substance use/abuse services to all enrolled students including direct clinical care. The position also develops and implements programs for the campus community on topics related to college mental health and substance use/abuse in addition to collaborating with on and off campus partners re: students mandated to attend an assessment related to substance use. *This is an 11 month position, off the month of June. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or other related field, by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • Licensed in NYS to provide mental health counseling, or be eligible for a limited permit.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse setting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on a college campus.
  • NYS Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).
  • Supervised experience working in a clinical setting (mental health and/or substance abuse).
  • Familiar with harm reduction techniques.
    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Salary and Benefits: Minimum Salary is $45,054. May be benefits eligible; more information at Careers@Brockport. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. This is an 11 month position, off the month of June. Application Instructions:
