Description

The Division of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School seeks a pediatric or clinical child and adolescent psychologist with a track record of training excellence to serve as our Director of Psychology Training at the Texas Child Study Center (TCSC). TCSC is a collaboration between Dell Medical School, the first medical school to be built at a tier one research university in nearly fifty years, and Ascension Seton's Dell Children's Medical Center, a 248-bed Pediatric Level I Trauma Center and only freestanding pediatric hospital in the region. TCSC is situated on the main campus of Dell Children's and provides culturally-informed, evidence-based assessment and treatment for children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, medical and developmental challenges.

TCSC's psychology training programs include an APA-accredited internship, a postdoctoral fellowship and an advanced doctoral student practicum program. Our internship program offers tracks in Pediatric Integrated Care and Pediatric Neuropsychology, while the fellowship program includes major training concentrations in Pediatric Primary Care, Inpatient Consultation-Liaison, Developmental Disabilities and Autism, and Trauma Informed Care. Additional interdisciplinary training collaborations include the training of child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and participation in the UT Integrated Behavioral Health Scholars Program, an innovative cross-campus collaboration between Dell Medical School, Steve Hicks School of Social Work, School of Nursing and Departments of Psychology and Educational Psychology. The position includes clinical service delivery within the candidate's defined area(s) of expertise and scholarly activity. The Director of Psychology training will report to the Division Chief of Psychology and work in close partnership with the Director of Pediatric Psychology.

Dell Medical School is committed to redesigning academic medicine and revolutionizing how people get and stay healthy. We strive to create a vital, inclusive health ecosystem and seek qualified candidates who share our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The successful candidate must be able to effectively work with and be sensitive to the needs of historically underserved and marginalized communities, including persons of color.
