Summary:
The College of Lake County is currently looking for aCollege Readiness and Dual Credit Program Coordinator for the P-20 Educational Partnerships Department. P-20 Educational Partnerships' mission is to create seamless transitions to post-secondary educational opportunities and career pathways for all students, with a special emphasis on advancing equity and closing opportunity gaps for historically marginalized students. The Program Coordinator will support this work by facilitating the implementation of dual credit partnerships between the College of Lake County (CLC) and assigned high school partners. The Program Coordinator is responsible for fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to provide proactive support that increases students' success, college aspirations, career planning, and access to college-credit opportunities and removes barriers to access. The Program Coordinator is the main dual credit point of contact for administrators, teachers, and students at the assigned high schools. High school assignments may vary year-to-year. The P-20 Educational Partnerships Department is a high-functioning team committed to equity-minded practice, student success, and collaborative partnerships. The department is seeking candidates who demonstrate CLC's values to bring a diverse perspective to the team.

*This position will be partially funded by the ICCB Perkins Grant.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree.

  6. Experience presenting to diverse audiences.

  10. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  11. Willingness to work flexible hours that may include some evening hours.
  12. Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Summary of Essential Functions:
Student and Customer Service (40%)
  1. Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and families in assigned high schools as well as with CLC colleagues.
  2. Serve as the primary dual credit contact for students and parents and act as a liaison between CLC, administrators, and instructors involved in dual credit. Maintain records, correspondence and communication with schools and individuals participating in the department’s initiatives. Maintains records and writes reports for any associated grants or pilot initiatives.
  3. Coordinate student enrollment: disseminate information, lead orientations, assist students in completing the CLC application, collect enrollment forms, check prerequisites, and work with Admissions to enroll students.
  4. Develop and implement support activities for dual credit students, including: dual credit overview presentations, student orientations, site visits, Canvas and MyCLC support. Modify activities to meet the needs of the audience and to ensure they remain culturally sensitive.
  5. Lead orientations for new instructors and contribute to development of annual meetings for dual credit instructors and CLC departments. Provide training to dual credit adjuncts on MyCLC, PeopleSoft, and Canvas. Create or modify reference materials related to training.
  6. Collaborate with internal departments to support dual credit students, instructors, and schools.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with FERPA when handling confidential student information.

Department Operations and Procedures (25%)
  1. Distribute and track dual credit Memorandums of Understanding and Shared Data Agreements between the College of Lake County and assigned high schools.
  2. Collaborate with appropriate college departments and high school contacts to ensure required procedures are being followed. Examples include instructor credential reviews; annual submission of syllabi; Memorandums of Understanding; submission of student records, enrollment forms, roster verifications, prerequisite verifications, midterm rosters, final grade reports, course evaluations, and instructor observations and evaluations; and in taking enrollment or grade appeals. Ensure all documentation is created, disseminated, and returned for all courses.
  3. Support program evaluation.
Project Leadership (30%)
  1. Coordinate the Lake County dual credit partnership between the College of Lake County and assigned high schools. This includes piloting new models, setting up courses, managing student enrollment, collecting required paperwork from students and instructors, leading orientations for staff and students, and facilitating annual meetings.
  2. Explore and propose strategic opportunities for dual credit expansion and evaluate incoming requests from assigned high schools for new dual credit instructors, courses, and models. Provide information and guidance to internal and external departments and divisions seeking to expand programs. Track department approvals of new requests.
  3. Analyze research and developments in the field of dual credit, as well as the needs of our diverse high schools, to develop evidence-based models for the delivery of dual credit.
  4. Draft, communicate, provide internal and external training on, and implement procedures for dual credit. Align with, and monitor changes to, the Dual Credit Quality Act, ICCB’s Administrative Rules Regarding Dual Credit, and HLC’s guidelines to demonstrate compliance.
  5. Support the College of Lake County’s articulated credit agreements.
