Position Summary:

The Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness & Planning is responsible for providing oversight for institutional research, strategic planning, program review/assessment and regionalized and specialized accreditation for the college. The position is responsible for collecting, managing and reporting institutional research data for the organization and for driving the strategic planning process, working with cross-functional teams, translating strategic goals into tactical plans, developing and coordinating an academic program review and assessment process for the 12 campuses and coordinating special projects on behalf of the Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate from an accredited institution with five (5) or more years of senior administrative level leadership experience in higher education, including two (2) or more years of community college experience.

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
  • Experience with outcomes assessment at the course, program or institutional level
  • Experience working with a comprehensive community college.
  • Experience working with regional accreditation standards and processes,
  • Experience in data collection and analysis, technology platforms for training, student success best practices, academic advising, digital cataloging and training portfolio development.
  • Experience in developing and implementing complex projects and programs in support of college objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with using analytical tools and methods to measure, disaggregate, forecast, and report upon various types of higher education and student success data (e.g., IPEDs, enrollment, persistence, retention, graduation, transfer, CCSSE, SENSE, etc.)
  • Experience with designing, building, and maintaining data dashboards
  • Experience with student information systems and data management platforms
  • Experience with supervision, budget management, and strategic planning
Example of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the CSCC Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs, the AVP is responsible for providing oversight for institutional research, strategic planning, program review/assessment and regionalized and specialized accreditation for the college through these essential functions:
  • Leads a comprehensive approach to institutional effectiveness research and planning for the Connecticut State Community College
  • Provides supervision and leadership in the development and implementation of policies and procedures governing the planning, research, analysis and assessment of all CSCC academic programs
  • Provides supervision and leadership in the collection, analysis, interpretation and communication of data, both internal and external, to drive college-wide planning and institutional decision-making
  • Provides leadership, administrative oversight and support for all CSCC regional and specialized accreditation and ongoing assessment activities
  • Provides guidance to the President’s cabinet on where strategic approaches to student success can and should be focused, while supporting the college's long-term vision around continuous improvement and data-driven innovations

Starting Salary:

$123,313 to $154,142 (midpoint) approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. Salary Range for this level is $123,313-$184,970.

Selection Procedure:
