UWM College of Nursing, the largest College of Nursing in Wisconsin, has been widely recognized for its innovation, leadership in the profession of nursing, and extensive collaboration with diverse community agencies. The College supports the University’s urban mission by responding to the health needs of individuals, families, groups, and populations in urban communities. Opening in Fall 2022, the UWM James and Yvonne Ziemer Clinical Simulation Center will provide a state-of-the-art learning facility where students will practice clinical skills in a safe environment. The simulation center houses several labs, including a birthing room, an apartment, clinic rooms, and other areas to provide simulated learning experiences.

UWM College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding (MSP), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. UW-Milwaukee offers the BS in Nursing at UWM, UWM at Waukesha and UW-Parkside through a consortial partnership. Students are placed in clinical sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin in proximity to each campus location.

Job Summary
The Clinical Simulation Center Instructor will direct, instruct, and guide students in the practice lab and simulation settings. In addition, this position will facilitate development of students' critical thinking, technical, and professional skills while maintaining safety and confidentiality.The distribution of duties for this position is approximately 70% Instructional and 30% Administrative.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Enrolled in, or completion of, a Master of Nursing or Doctoral Nursing degree program.
  • Unrestricted license as RN in WI, or ability to become licensed as RN in WI.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred 50% completion of Master of Nursing degree; or equivalent progression through a doctoral nursing program
  • Master of Nursing degree
  • Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and/or PhD in a related field
  • Evidence of at least two years of clinical practice experience in nursing
  • Nursing Skills or Simulation teaching experience
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential
  • Clinical and/or theory teaching experience in a nursing program
  • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)
