Job Summary

The School of Nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applicants to apply for a full-time non-tenure-track, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing faculty position to begin Fall 2022.  This is a 9-month academic appointment with opportunity for promotion. A teaching stipend may be available during summer. Review of applications will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled.

 

Essential Functions

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach primarily in graduate programs (undergraduate nursing program as needed).
  • Teach both online and face to face as dictated by program needs.
  • Assist and collaborate with faculty colleagues as needed both online and in the classroom.
  • Mentor and advise students.
  • Engage in scholarly contributions and professional self-improvement activities.
  • Participate in professional service as well as service to the School of Nursing and University.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Nursing or related field.
  • Eligible for nursing licensure in Texas.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching nursing online and teaching nursing in the classroom and/or clinical setting.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
