Job Description:

The University of Florida, Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking two board certified/board eligible, Emergency Medicine/Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians (dual trained preferred, but all PEM trained individuals are encouraged to apply) to join our Department of Emergency Medicine. The UF Pediatric Emergency Department is an integral part of UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, the #1 rated children’s hospital in Florida and one of the top five in the Southeastern United States according to US News & World Report. Our Pediatric ER sees over 24,000 patients per year and sponsors a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship. Our faculty provide critical bedside, didactic, and simulation training for pediatric and emergency medicine residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers. Individual faculty engage in federally funded research studies and hold leadership positions within the UF College of Medicine.

The UF department of emergency medicine is affiliated with UF Health Shands Hospital, 1,162 bed teaching hospital with a Level 1 trauma center and burn center, and is the major referral center for North Central Florida.

The successful candidate will be excited to join our growing Department in a non-tenure accruing position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. The successful candidate will hold a University of Florida appointment and become part of our current group of 9 full time PEM faculty and 40 general EM faculty to support the expansion of clinical services in our community. Rank will be based on experience and education.

Minimum Requirements:

All physicians must be ABEM/ABOEM Board Certified/Board-Eligible

Preferred Qualifications:

Dual trained EM/PEM preferred, but all PEM trained individuals are encouraged to apply
