Job Summary:

This position reviews and advises on a variety of advanced financial transactions. Prepares and reconciles complex financial transactions. Recommends controls and process improvements. Troubleshoots advanced financial errors. Maintains various financial records, provides administrative processing support and provides customer service for staff and customers in an assigned program area to support program financial management.

Responsibilities:

Primarily reviews, approves, and advises on a variety of complex financial transactions. Reconciles transactions. Maintains financial records, provides administrative processing support, and provides customer service for staff and customers in an assigned program area to support program financial management. Recommends controls and process improvements and troubleshoots complex financial errors. May be a lead or resource for others in the unit.
  • 50% Monitors financial transactions and fund balances and generates and reconciles complex reports and statements in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • 20% Reviews and approves complex transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies
  • 5% Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings
  • 5% Drafts communications and reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit
  • 5% Answers complex fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences
  • 5% Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures
  • 5% Serve as a unit liaison to leadership providing financial advice, recommendations, and financial status updates
  • 5% May train staff on financial processes and best practices

Qualifications:

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.- Required
-Effective skills to be able to prioritize work assignments under stressful and sometimes conflcting constraints.
-Experience with ARBI invoicing.- Required
-Experience monitoring financial transactions using a web-based financial tracking system. - Required
-Experience processing financial transactions through an automated processing System. - Required
-Experience in developing and maintaining financial spreadsheets.- Required
-Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting.- Required

Additional Information:

The UW-Madison- Conference Centers Registrations department provides comprehensive enrollment services including payment management as well as financial reporting for the simplest meetings to large, complex conferences and conventions. We will collect payment for events and provide detailed, custom reporting on attendee counts, financials, and more for events across the country. In addition to money and data management, we also provide in person staffing and set up of registrations for events in the Madison area.
