Job Description: Instruction of students in the MOA programs. Teaches courses in accordance with their description as published in the catalog. Responsible for timely submission of attendance and grading records. Adheres to course objectives and outcomes. Filing current course syllabi with the Division. Utilizes the full classroom time assigned, meeting all classes as scheduled. Responsible for management of classroom, clinical and laboratory learning activities for nursing students; theory, clinical, and lab content instruction for students in these programs.

The medical assisting faculty and/or instructional staff must direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains. The medical assisting faculty and/or instructional staff must be current and competent in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives included in their assigned teaching, as evidenced by education and/or experience, and have instruction in educational theory and techniques. Medical assisting faculty includes individuals who teach courses specifically designed and unique to the medical assistant program.

Education Requirements: The adjunct faculty must be a certified CMA, RMA, or CCMA. The individual must have a minimum of an associate’s degree, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree.

Experience Requirements: At least two years of medical assistant experience and computer proficiency required. Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management system and at least two years of classroom teaching experience preferred.
