Job Description

The Sr. Library Information Specialist works in the Interlibrary Loan Department and reports to the Interlibrary Loan Manager. This position will work on a team to process interlibrary loan requests, provide patron assistance, and will serve as a subject matter expert on interlibrary loan processes and guidelines. They will work with the rest of the Interlibrary Loan team and the Head of Resource Sharing to ensure efficient and effective services that meet the needs of the University Libraries' constituents.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the Interlibrary Loan team.
  • Processes requests for research materials.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for users of the interlibrary loan service.
  • Develops and maintains documentation.
  • Troubleshoots technical and workflow issues.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, evidenced through direct action.
  • Communicates clearly inside and outside the department to ensure timely service.
  • Oversees student employee work; provides training and regularly checks for quality.
  • Completes project work in an efficient and independent manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a library
  • Successful experience in a customer service role
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams that encompass a range of roles and knowledge
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Experience working with interlibrary loan systems (ILLiad, OCLC WorldShare, Clio, BSCAN ILL, etc.)

$16.00 to $17.00 per hour commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

Shift

This position works a set schedule (determined by employee and Supervisor), Monday through Friday, generally between 7:30am and 5:00pm, for a total of 40 hours weekly.
