Essential Functions (Job Duties)
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Supervisor, Student Center Operations provides overall management of performance and event's technical needs for the Student Center, Community Arts Auditorium, St. Andrews Hall and all other Student Center locations reserved by the Student Center. Works closely with the Associate Director of Operations, the other Operations Supervisor, and the 2 Audio/Visual Technicians to assist with the overall operation of the Student Center and all Student Center reserved locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages and maintains all performance and event technical components of the Student Center, Community Arts, St. Andrews Hall and other locations reserved by the Student Center.
Supervises the professional Audio/Visual Technicians. Jointly supervises more than 30 student and temporary employees. Responsible for staff hiring, monitoring work activities, providing training and feedback, managing scheduling and setting expectations to utilize their abilities to fullest extent.
Meets with clients regarding their technical needs and coordinates all walkthroughs of space prior to events. Provides day of support technical needs to clients and/or coordinates student staff that work the event.
Works closely with the Student Center Reservations/Information Center staff to help contribute to the overall management of the Student Center. Provides feedback on the reservation process and assist with setting policies and procedures for the operations and reservations staff to effectively operate the building and provide better customer service.
Oversees all aspects of the Student Center digital signage, digital directories and touch screen room signage.
Assists in the development and implementation of Student Center policies and procedures. Participates with establishing departmental strategic plans, goals and objectives. Monitors work activities and resources to make sure established goals and objectives are achieved.
Assists and participates in special projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Unique Duties
There are two open positions for this posting with 2 different work schedules:
1st Position: Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
2nd Position: Monday - Friday: 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in communications, technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Education Information: Coursework in technology, communications, higher education, student affairs counseling, or similar disciplines
EXPERIENCE:
Additional Experience Information: Minimum 3 years of related job experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
Preference for related experience in event technology, higher education, and management.
