Job Description

Job Summary

The SBDC (Small Business Development Center) Training Coordinator, under general supervision, coordinates and develops training classes, training schedules and deliveries, works with the point of contact at host agencies, and markets training classes to clients and the small business community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Market the SBDC and training classes to the public through various methods to include media, digital marketing, and social media.
  • Advise on website structure and activity. Serves as the subject matter specialist for training program development.
  • Schedule training sessions to include selecting speakers and preparing marketing materials/brochures. Receive and utilized professional development training. Develops and delivers small business training.
  • Maintains training information in the Management Information System (MIS) in accordance with federal, state, and System Member requirements.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to include SBA (Small Business Administration) and its resource partners, Chamber of Commerce, economic development organizations and lenders. Media appearances may be required.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Bachelor's degree (Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Journalism, Economic Development or related field).
  • Experience - Three years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database applications.


Ability to:
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral communication skills and the ability to effectively interact in individual and group engagements.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to generate traditional and electronic correspondence
  • Exercise initiative and appropriate independent judgement.
  • Multitask and work cooperatively with others.


Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bilingual: (English/Spanish).

Salary: $17.55/hourly
