SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU's compensation plan. RVU's full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

The Family Medicine Clerkship Director oversees the 3 rd year Family Medicine core clerkship by overseeing the delivery of all components of the Family Medicine core clerkship curriculum.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for development and oversight of all aspects of the 3rd year Family Medicine core curriculum including clinical assessment and student performance.
  2. Designs, implements and sustains a strong didactic component for the core Family Medicine clerkship.
  3. Assists in the development of assessment tools including standardized patients for evaluation of Family Medicine competencies.
  4. Write letters of recommendation for students interested in Family Medicine, as requested, to support their residency applications.
  5. Serves on the Clinical Education Committee.
  6. Serves as the liaison between Clinical Education and Family Medicine preceptors regarding student performance.
  7. Works in conjunction with the Assistant Deans of Clinical Education and other medical educators to develop appropriate faculty development for the Family Medicine adjunct faculty.
  8. Works in conjunction with the Assistant Deans of Clinical Education and Director of Clinical Education in the recruitment of new Family Medicine adjunct faculty.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Deans or his/her designee.

  2. Participate in community and professional outreach activities on behalf of the college and university.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Terminal degree (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Medical Doctor Degree)
  2. Board certification in Family Medicine
  3. Good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies.
  4. Eligible for coverage by college's malpractice insurer, if applicable.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical education
  • Experience in GME
