Under the direction of the Dean of the Academic & Career Pathway for Public Service, Education and the Social Sciences, the Program Dean of Public Service and Education is responsible for direct oversight of College-wide educational disciplines, programs, and services within one or more of the College’s integrated academic, career, and workforce programs. The position oversees and leads multiple instructional disciplines, programs, and services to provide strong holistic learning opportunities and promotes equitable educational student outcomes. The Program Dean supports excellence in teaching and learning; promotes culturally responsive curriculum and program development; engages with industry/workforce; and supports full- and part-time faculty to ensure equitable opportunity and academic goal attainment for students. The incumbent serves as a key College contact for internal and external College partners to ensure alignment of curriculum to community needs.

The college is seeking a grounded, outcomes-oriented individual with skills to effectively navigate a large, multi-campus environment during a time of organizational change. Under the direction of the Dean of Academic & Career Pathways for Public Services, Education and the Social Sciences, the Program Dean of Public Service and Education will lead a team of department chairs, faculty, and staff to provide integrated delivery of career technical and transfer courses in paralegal, criminal justice, addictions counseling, human services, gerontology and early childhood education.

The position provides an exciting opportunity for a strategic, collaborative, and student-centered leader. The Program Dean provides broad administrative direction and leadership in the development, expansion/contraction, revision, improvement, and maintenance of quality education programs. The Program Dean develops, implements, and evaluates equitable student success in career technical education (CTE), prerequisite, and transfer courses. A successful candidate will possess direct experience and strong knowledge of best practices in implementing initiatives to address equity and opportunity gaps in post-secondary education.   • Ability to effect and support change by leading and collaboratively supporting faculty and staff in the data-driven design, implementation, and evaluation of student-centered initiatives, with a particular focus on equitable student success through culturally responsive support for individuals and communities with historically marginalized identities (including but not limited to: first-generation students, BIPOC students, queer and transgender students, incarcerated students, and low-income students)
  • Demonstrated experience in collaboratively leading and supervising teams to foster a culture of creative problem solving, continuous improvement, data-driven decision making and accountability, and meaningfully engaging diverse internal and external stakeholders in a large, dynamic system
  • Demonstrated meaningful experience in one or more fields of career and technical education that informs a deep understanding of the uniqueness of career and technical education goals, approaches, techniques, needs and resources
  • Experience that demonstrates willingness to lead by example and to work collaboratively with others to promote a culture that disrupts prejudice, discrimination, and racism impacting students and staff at the interpersonal, intergroup, and institutional levels
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time- and project-management, skills to allow the incumbent to appropriately schedule, track, and balance multiple competing priorities and a diversity of needs with grace, consideration, and effectiveness

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
  • Master’s Degree
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience related to the area of assignment, providing program/project management or program/project coordination
  • Three (3) years of management experience, including employee supervision (not volunteer or student supervision), in higher education or in an industry related to the area of assignment
Position Grade N Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $96,208 to range midpoint of $117,854. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $96208 to $139497 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

After one year of management or confidential service, PCC also provides a 2% contribution to a 403(b) account for eligible management and confidential personnel. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work environment includes frequent disruptions and changes in priorities. Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. Frequent travel to other locations is required.
