The Moores School of Music at the University of Houston seeks an adjunct instructor for the 2022-2023 academic year, renewable by semester. Teaching load is two to three courses per semester; courses include Graduate Music History Review, Research Methods (MM required course), Music History III (Burkholder: 20th/21st centuries), and Opera Literature (survey course).

The Moores School of Music within the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts of the University of Houston offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in performance, performance and pedagogy, conducting, music education, musicology and music theory. The Moores School also offers courses and performance opportunities to the campus at large. These programs and initiatives incorporate applied instruction, ensemble performance, and coursework in music history, music theory, aural skills, music technology, research, pedagogy, and conducting.

Qualifications :

Applicant should hold a PhD in ethnomusicology or historical musicology, ABD considered.
