The Office Manager provides administrative support to the offices of Housing & Residence Life, Conferences & Camps, and other offices within Student Affairs. The Office Manager is directly responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising front desk student staff. The employee is responsible for other office functions for the Governors Hall office suite (often referred to as the Housing Office) include office supply inventory, key management, incoming mail and package oversight, and calendar management of meeting spaces. The Office Manager will also assist other staff with additional administrative duties related to student records management, web management, travel, procurement, and access controlThe person in this position is often a first point of contact for students, families, and visitors to campus and will need to retain knowledge and information about offices across campus. Retaining a knowledge base in Housing, Residence Life, and Student Affairs policies and processes is critical in this position. The employee should have attention to best practices in customer service, as well as constant forward thinking on efficiency and management. The Office Manager serves as role model for student employees through prompt and accurate communication, collaboration, and exceptional follow through on assigned tasks.
