Schmid College of Science and Technology at Chapman University seeks applicants for a part-time Ecology Lecturer to teach undergraduate students beginning August 2022.

Qualifications

* A Ph.D. or M.S. degree in biology or related area is required.
* University or community college teaching experience of Ecology is required.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
* Strong commitment to student learning, quality teaching and academic excellence.
* Ability to motivate and teach students of diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
* Appreciation and respect for student role, contribution, and responsibility in the learning process.
* Commitment to personalized education.

Responsibilities

The Lecturer will design lectures related to Ecology and will instruct approximately 18-24 students each Tuesday/Thursday from 10:00-11:15AM during the Fall 2022 semester. Previous experience instructing Ecology is required. A mixture of lecture and active learning opportunities using evidence-based teaching practices is preferred. Responsibilities each week include preparing and presenting a lecture related to ecological principles and theory, holding office hours, and designing and grading assignments.
