Job Summary

This position will assist the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in running the Women’s Basketball program. Responsibilities include, recruiting potential student-athletes, practice preparation and coaching, analysis of film, game management and coaching and other administrative duties assigned by the Head Women's Basketball Coach.

Essential Functions
  • Develop skills of student-athletes through individual drills and sessions designed to improve overall player quality. Practice preparation and coaching including film analysis, scouting of opponents, and on court coaching.
  • Serve as coordinator of recruiting activities. Includes organization of recruiting database, communication with staff related to travel, focus of efforts, liaison to compliance and admissions offices, organization of visits and creating calendar of activities. Recruit potential student-athletes as directed by the Associate or Head Coach. Includes extensive communication outreach, travel and evaluation of potential student-athletes.
  • Serve as mentor to select student-athletes within the women's basketball program as directed by Head Coach.
  • Ensure compliance with all University, CAA and NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to the women's Basketball program.
  • Work effectively with administrators and support staff within the department of Athletics to ensure operations of women's basketball program comply with the direction of the Head Coach and department leadership
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach or the Director of Athletics including but are not limited to alumni and community outreach, liaisons to specific support areas such as equipment, academic, strength & conditioning, marketing, compliance and communications.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years coaching and recruiting at the collegiate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach the skills and strategies of basketball.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License .
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, run, climb, and walk.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
