Classification Title:
UF Information Technology is seeking an individual to serve as an OPS transcriptionist and/or captioning assistant, to assist with transcribing and creating closed captioning for course lectures, as well as arranging for captioning services. This position will assist in delivering online lecture content for students with closed captioning accommodations, in addition to departmental closed captioning.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
- Required typing skills: 60 correct words per minute, with a high accuracy rate
- Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and closed captioning standards

Expected Salary:
$11.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

- Excellent command of English grammar and punctuation
- Attentive listening and comprehension skills
- Strong proficiency with internet research and reference resources
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage projects and work independently and as a team
- Work well under deadlines/pressure
- Prior experience with transcription equipment (foot pedal and software) is a plus, but not necessary (training is provided)
- Good attitude and work ethic. Willingness to learn and adapt to new software quickly
