This is a full-time position in our ITS department that is located in the team that supports our enterprise applications.  The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to work with our team to learn and implement applications such as Workday, Workday Prism, Workday integration tools, Workday Extend, and the snapLogic iPaaS tool.  In some of these application areas, this position will be a leader, while in other areas, this position will be a team member.  We are looking for a technologist who has the experience to help form and drive our strategy with these tools.  Additionally, this position will interact with our identity and access management (IAM) teammates, who are currently upgrading to new technologies such as Grouper.

 

The ideal Enterprise Integrator-Developer will have a background in modern coding environments and tools. They will enjoy working closely with various departments, as well as IT business analysts, to implement fixes, enhancements, and new technologies. Further, in our constantly changing world of technology, the ideal candidate will have a thirst for learning new technologies. We are a team, we support each other, back each other up when needed, and brainstorm together when given the opportunity.  You will be joining this team of seasoned professionals who are highly dedicated and at the beginning of an exciting initiative to modernize our enterprise software environment.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

 

Data and Integrations

  • Work with IT staff as well as campus constituents to implement and build a new integration environment using modem tools and techniques as part of our integrations team.  Our primary tools moving forward will be snapLogic as well as the Workday suite of integration tools.
  • Continually develop knowledge in integration technologies and strategies
  • Monitor and triage incoming tickets for new and existing integrations
  • Member of the Carleton Integration Team
  • Integrations, data, and IAM are all related, and so this position will regularly interface with the IAM staff and contribute to the projects of that team.
  • Integrations and Reporting are closely related, and so this position will also be a part of the Carleton Reporting Team

 

Application Support

  • Provide support for assigned software applications. Applications are a blend of on-premise and cloud deployments, but have been moving towards more cloud deployments over time.  The specific applications assigned to this position will vary over time and will depend on the skills and experience of the candidate.
  • Develop and support reports in the Workday reporting environment

General

  • Act as liaison with software vendors as assigned
  • Promote sharing of information and expertise
  • Continually develop knowledge in all areas of EIS team to provide overlap support
  • Promote proper use and security of college data

Education/Experience/Skills (supported by job duties):

 

Required education and years of experience:

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of full-time work experience with integrated information systems, systems analysis, design, and coding. 

 

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Evidence of superior analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to a fluid work environment, including team and independent responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, and current trends of integrated information systems
  • Knowledge of software lifecycle management tools, such as GIT
  • API web services development skills
  • Experience with building, maintaining and deploying web services integrations, such as XML, XSLT, JSON, etc.
  • A strong foundation in database concepts
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative decision-making
  • Experience with cloud applications such as Workday or Salesforce
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; polished interpersonal skills

 

In addition to meeting the above knowledge, skills and experience, the following are highly desired:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience with industry-standard integration tools such as snapLogic, Informatica, Mulesoft
  • Experience with SQL coding and tools
  • Familiarity with the support of any of the following products is a plus: MS SQL Server and related tools; Ellucian Colleague; Ellucian Ethos or other enterprise integration or ESB tools; Salesforce; Salesforce Apex; Hyland OnBase, Oracle, OLAP, SSAS
  • Experience with industry-standard reporting software, such as SSRS, Cognos, Tableau, or Workday reporting
  • Experience with end-user support and training
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner using a wide variety of presentation strategies (e.g., graphs, tables, text, multi-media)
  • Experience in the Microsoft SQL environment including SSRS and SSIS
  • Experience with identity management philosophies and technologies
  • Experience with data governance concepts as well as data dictionary tools
