The School of Nursing is vibrant and dynamic, and our faculty educate students to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism they will need to be compassionate and successful nurses and leaders. Our nursing programs and curricula are delivered in an environment that embraces multicultural and social justice perspectives, relationships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the liberal arts. Our expansion of the nurse educator program of study continues. This Ranked Faculty member creates Nurse Educator programming, future certification courses and graduate core curriculum. Responsibilities are to:

  • Facilitate student learning in assigned courses by teaching and advising a diverse student population, modeling socialization to nursing roles, and referring students to appropriate University services.
  • Teach in online during all terms courses are offered.
  • Participate in recruitment, orientation, and advising activities.
  • Design, teach, and evaluate didactic, practicum, and theoretical graduate-level nursing courses.
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students of all cultures and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance
  • Maintain curricular integrity by ensuring course content promotes achievement of student learning outcomes identified in the curriculum map.
  • Contribute to professional development of faculty colleagues through peer review, mentoring, consultation, and scholarship activities.
  • Engage in a scholarly agenda with activity in the School of Nursing, the University, and/or the nursing profession.
  • Engage in service to the School of Nursing, the Nurse Educator program of study, the University, and the nursing profession by participation/leadership in standing/ad hoc committees, and/or other service opportunities in the University and in the nursing professional community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate level degree in Nursing completed
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field must be completed or in progress
  • Current and unencumbered license as a nurse in Minnesota
  • Experience teaching online, graduate nursing courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Nurse Educator
  • Two or more years teaching in graduate nursing education
