Instructor in Teacher Education - F00416

Position Summary:

Instructor will teach ECH/ELED and MLED Reading courses, methods courses, and supervise Field Experiences and Interns

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teaching
• Advising
• Serving on committees
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of current Reading initiatives, Reading interventions and strategies, as well as teaching methods in Reading

Ability to work well with students, faculty, and public school teachers and administrators

Interpersonal skills needed for working with college students, particularly non-traditional students

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Position is stationed on A-State- Mountain Home Campus

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Master's Degree in Reading

Three (3) years of successful teaching experience as a public school classroom teacher in some of grades PK-8

Has met or is willing to complete AR DESE Reading Proficiency Pathway requirements upon hiring

Preferred Requirements:
Previous teaching experience at university level in a professional teacher education program
Experience with diverse populations
