Summary

The Information Technology Research and Data Technology team is looking for a highly motivated and competent professional to join the team as a Senior Informatics Associate. As a Senior Informatics Associate, you will have the opportunity to transform and deliver various aspects of healthcare data solutions by analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating information systems that enhance research on individual and population health outcomes, improve patient care and optimize clinical and administrative operations.

As a Senior Informatics Associate on this team, your primary focus will be to transform and deliver various aspects of healthcare data solutions by analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating information systems that enhance research on individual and population health outcomes, improve patient care and optimize clinical and administrative operations.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Duties

Working under general supervision, the Senior Informatics Associate job entails gathering business requirements, assessing data availability and integration needs, delivering new solutions and enhancing existing solutions out of the BCM Enterprise Data Warehouse/ Data Platform, as well as ensuring that existing reporting solutions are functioning properly.

These Job duties include:

  • Contributes to the development, maintenance, and support of the data warehouse that include data ETL, API design and build, and data modeling to create an enterprise data warehouse system.
  • Conducts research into new data warehouse applications and determines viability for adoption; assists in development of standards.
  • Provides Business Intelligence solutions including reports, dashboards and security models. Streamlines and improves the data integration processes to have easily accessible single source of data. Recommends best practices and methodologies related to data services systems.
  • Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications.
  • Evaluates existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse.
  • Incorporates existing subject areas into an enterprise model.
  • Creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Master's degree and two years of relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience at Baylor College of Medicine or a similar healthcare institution highly preferred.
  • The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, be regarded as a team player, have strong and proven organizational skills, and have a personal drive to be their best.
  • Experience working with SQL Server, Oracle, API, JSON, and Epic EHR along with a variety of other data related technologies.
