WHAT YOU'LL DO
Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of office support, clerical, and routine secretarial duties of a general or specialized nature.

The current vacancy is a full-time position (12 months/year, 40 hours/week) located at Moorpark College. This position will support the Office of Institutional Advancement and Community Relations and the Alumni Association outreach efforts.

Moorpark College, one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District, was founded in 1967. It serves approximately 15,000 students, and with a "students first" philosophy, empowers its diverse community of learners to complete their goals for academic transfer, basic skills, and career education. Moorpark College is one of the most beautiful community colleges in California. Set on 150 acres, the campus is nestled in the foothills on the southeastern flank of Ventura County, about 40 miles from UCLA, and approximately 75 miles from UC Santa Barbara. It is also a short drive from CSU Northridge, CSU Channel Islands, and California Lutheran University. Moorpark College has been recognized as an Aspen 150 College for the last two years. Known for transfer of students to public and private universities, Moorpark College has the highest number of Associate Degree for Transfers among California community colleges its size.

SALARY PLACEMENT
New Employees: Generally, new employees are placed on the first step of the appropriate range of the salary schedule.
Current Employees: An employee who is promoted will be placed on the salary step of the new range of the appropriate salary schedule that provides a minimum increase comparable to a one-step increase in salary.

COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT
Board Policy 3506 COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement for Employees and Students requires that all students and employees of the Ventura County Community College District, which includes faculty, staff, volunteers, student workers, and administrators, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All new employees must be fully vaccinated by the first day of employment. An exemption may be requested by individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to medical and/or religious reasons. Employees who receive an exemption will be required to wear a mask or face covering while on District property and/or facilities and will be required to undergo COVID-19 testing twice weekly. This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates that will be used to fill district-wide, current and upcoming, temporary and regular vacancies for the duration of the list, not to exceed one year.

Representative Duties
Serve as receptionist for assigned area; receive office and telephone callers; provide general and technical information in accordance with established guidelines. E

Verify and review materials such as applications, records, files, and reports for completeness and conformance with established regulations and procedures; apply applicable policies and procedures in determining completeness of applications, records, files, and reports; collect and process appropriate information. E

Prepare, review, edit, and proofread a variety of documents and forms including general correspondence, agendas, requisitions, purchase orders, reports, minutes, and memoranda from rough draft, recordings, or verbal instruction; disseminate information as appropriate. E

Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and records for assigned areas; develop and monitor various logs, accounts, and files for current and accurate information; maintain and generate reports from a database or network system; verify accuracy of information and research discrepancies. E

Perform a variety of routine clerical accounting duties and responsibilities pertaining to financial record keeping and reporting; compile information and data for statistical and financial reports; check and tabulate data; maintain a variety of accounting records, logs, and files. E

Produce newsletters, brochures, technical handouts, and other specialized documents using desktop publishing software and other computer applications. E

Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence. E

Maintain office supplies and inventories; order, receive, and maintain office supplies and equipment; prepare requisitions, purchase orders, and work order forms. E

Maintain calendar of activities, meetings, and various events; schedule appointments; reserve facilities for specific uses. E

Assist in the preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and associated material; take and prepare minutes. E

Make reservations and travel arrangements; process a variety of travel and expense forms. E

Assist in training and providing work direction to student workers. E

Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to:

Education: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.

Experience: One year of responsible clerical experience involving public contact and the use of a computer and office applications OR two years of customer service experience that required the use of computer applications to enter and retrieve information.

EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS:
This is an examination open to the public and current district employees seeking a promotional opportunity. To ensure consideration, please submit your application materials by June 28, 2022.

The examination process may consist of any of the following components:

A) *Written/Performance Test = Qualifying (pass/fail)
B) Technical Interview = 100% weighting on final score

PLEASE NOTE: All testing for this recruitment will be conducted remotely. Please see additional information regarding the test dates and location below.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications stated by the filing deadline in order to move forward in the testing process. Those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to the written/performance test. The eight (8) candidates with the highest passing scores on the written/performance test will be invited to the technical interview. The examination process is subject to change as needs dictate. All communication regarding this process will be delivered via email.

WRITTEN/PERFORMANCE TEST DATE RANGE AND LOCATION:
Date Range: Wednesday, June 29, 2022 to Tuesday, July 5, 2022

Location: All candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be emailed a link to the test on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 and will have until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 to complete the test. In order to participate in the written/performance test, you must have access to a computer and a reliable connection to the internet.

TECHNICAL INTERVIEW DATE RANGE AND LOCATION:
Date Range: Wednesday, July 13, 2022 to Wednesday, July 20, 2022
Location: The Technical Interview will be conducted remotely, using Zoom. In order to participate in the internet, you must have access to a computer with a camera, microphone, speakers, and a reliable connection to the internet.

The examination components and dates are subject to change as needs dictate. All communication regarding this process will be delivered via email.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:
ONCE YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR APPLICATION YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE REVISIONS TO YOUR APPLICATION MATERIALS.

When completing the application, please make sure you include ALL current and previous employment in the Work Experience section of the application and complete ALL fields, including the name and contact information for your supervisors. Experience that is included in the resume but not in the Work Experience section of the application may not be considered for the purpose of determining whether you meet the minimum qualifications nor for the purpose of determining salary placement if you are hired. ELIGIBILITY LIST:
Upon completion of the examination, the eligibility list will be compiled by combining the final examination score with applicable seniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will be ranked according to their total score on the eligibility list. Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of the eligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fill current vacancies for up to one year from the date of the technical interview.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
All appointments made from eligibility lists for initial appointment or for promotion, with certain exceptions, shall be probationary for a period of six (6) months or one hundred thirty (130) days of paid service, whichever is longer. Classified management, police, and designated executive classifications shall be probationary for a period of one (1) year of paid service from initial appointment or promotion.
