The University of Maryland Baltimore's (UMB) Office of Sponsored
Program Administration (SPA) is looking for a
Grants Administrator II. SPA provides oversight and
administrative support to investigators and departmental
administrators throughout the life cycle of sponsored projects.
These positions interpret sponsor regulations and guidelines and
ensure fulfillment of all requirements and compliance with
rules and regulations; engage in the review of budgets and all
administrative aspects of applications; oversee the progress
and submission of all applications; and work with research
administrators on post award non-financial administrative matters.
Salary will be based on their level of experience and
meeting minimum qualifications for SPA's defined job
levels. UMB offers a comprehensive and

Resources. Essential Functions:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Independently review and analyze all grant proposal applications and awards, for compliance and consistency with federal and state laws and regulations, University policies and practices, research compliance restrictions and guidelines, financial and academic requirements, and agency policies and procedures.
- Under senior staff supervision, communicate with sponsor, UMB Principal Investigator and Department Administrators on any questions or concerns related to grant applications or award notices.
- Develop and assist all outgoing faculty in transferring all defined grant awards to their new institutions.
- Submit closeout documents for all awards and all NIH Common Functions for reporting and submission.
- Use intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills to provide basic troubleshooting to find answers and solutions for questions and issues raised by Department Administrators or Principal Investigators.
- Gain understanding of non-financial post-award along with the various types of sponsors and their policies as they relate to non-financial post-award requests. Apply intermediate knowledge of sponsor policies on cost principles.
- Identify and suggest improvements and solutions of team’s workflow and processes.
- Collaborate with Sponsored Projects Accounting & Compliance in providing departments and PI non-financial post award management, compliance, and reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

preferred.
Ability to review, understand and
