This is a full-time benefits eligible position. The Alumni and Events Coordinator will have the responsible of planning and providing implementation, direction, and management for university events that occur primarily on campus or other approved locations. The coordinator collaborates with university partners to provide seamless event operations, including initial planning stages through post-event and evaluation. They must provide a high level of customer service, enthusiasm, project management, and attention to detail. This position includes frequent interaction with the public, campus partners as well as University and alumni leaders, donors, vendors, and volunteers. The type of engagement and events this position will help facilitate includes but are not limited to the following: Presidential, Emeriti Association, Board meetings, Academic program anniversaries, Alumni/Affinity group reunions, homecoming, and commencement. The Alumni and Event Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for al “Alum From Day One” student engagement programming. Education & Formal Training Bachelor's degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, marketing, tourism, public relations, not-for-profit management, or related field.

Experience may be substituted for education and education substituted for experience based on the following equivalencies: AA or 60 credit hours = 2 years; BA/BS or 120 credit hours = 4 years ; MA/MS = 6 years ; PhD = 8 years. Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Web Page Maintenance Experience
Two (2) years experience in, and knowledge of, events, volunteer-management, marketing, alumni relations, or public relations required.

Two (2) years of experience working in higher education or other not-for-profits preferred. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Driver's license Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Budget-related skills, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Leadership skills: organization/meeting facilitation/project leadership, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Supervisory skills, including motivation, delegation of duties, evaluation, etc, Management and/or administration skills, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Ability to speak in front of large audiences.
