Position: The Auburn University Harbert College of Business seeks qualified candidates for 2 nine-month, non-tenure track, non-tenure eligible full-time teaching faculty positions in the department of Supply Chain Management starting in August 2022. The Lecturer contracts are renewed annually based on need, funding, and performance. These positions are designed to support the Supply Chain Management Program of Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business which includes major, minor, and graduate programs as well as graduate certificates.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of this position is to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The successful candidate will be expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to their supply chain courses.
Candidates with an industry background and/or a teaching record in supply chain management or related field are strongly desired. Under typical circumstances, the teaching load for the position will be equivalent to three to four three-credit hour courses per semester, which includes course development and course management activities. In addition to instructional duties, successful candidates will be expected to help develop and promote the department’s initiatives. Candidates should be comfortable in teaching different modalities including face-to-face, online, and hybrid face-to-face & online. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.
The Supply Chain Management program was ranked as the #7 undergraduate supply chain management program by Gartner in 2020. The faculty consists of an Eminent Scholar and nine additional tenure track faculty, four lecturers, and three staff who support the professional development of supply chain management students. The Center for Supply Chain Innovation is sponsored by over a dozen firms who make a multi-year commitment to support faculty research and the curriculum. The supply chain faculty is known for its high-quality research, exemplary teaching, and significant level of engagement in the supply chain industry. The department also houses the Journal of Business Logistics – a leading journal for empirical SCM scholarship.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Qualifications: Because this is a teaching intensive position, candidates must have a record of high-quality teaching experience and significant industry experience focusing on supply chain management. Successful candidates will be required to possess a Master’s degree or higher in business or an appropriate related discipline area at the time employment begins. Candidates with a Ph.D. are desired. Selected candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the term of employment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
