Williams College is recruiting a full-time Assistant Director of the Grants Office. We are a small, life-cycle office searching for an individual capable of and comfortable working directly with our faculty grant recipients, funding agencies and foundations, and a variety of on-campus offices and individuals. The Assistant Director should have experience with grants management, compliance, and budgeting. The successful candidate will be a strong writer and critical thinker who can easily grasp new concepts and communicate them with clarity.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Grants Office (GO) Assistant Director is to provide support for faculty who have secured external funding. The Assistant Director serves as the primary point of contact for post-award inquiries and as such, provides faculty with the following services: individual consultations upon award receipt (new grant meetings), review and tracking of compliance requirements, award monitoring, grant revisions, funder stewardship, and reporting. The assistant director handles the logistics of the post-award process for grants from both governmental agencies and private foundations.


Qualifications
  • At least 4 years experience in grants management required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and in use of Google Suite and/or MS Office Suite, data tracking and analysis, and spreadsheet competency
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with solid attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining working relationships with faculty, co-workers, and external constituencies
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a deadline-driven environment and to manage multiple projects with varied deadlines
