Job Summary:

The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care, Department of Medicine, UW School of Medicine and Public Health invites applications for a Genitourinary Medical Oncology professor, associate professor or assistant professor, CHS or CT track. As CHS faculty, this position provides direct patient care, including ambulatory, inpatient and consult service; proactively supports efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants; and allows protected time to develop and teach in a research or education program and to engage in scholarly activities. As CT faculty, this position provides direct patient care with other community based physicians, nurse practitioners and health care specialists with access to all UWCCC clinical trials, multi-disciplinary oncology programs including medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, precision medicine, medical imaging, cancer immunology & immunotherapy and early drug development. The successful candidate will also provide clinical teaching to medical students, residents and fellows.

Responsibilities:

* Duties include direct patient care, including ambulatory, inpatient and consult service; CHS: 60-70%; CT: 80-90%.
* Duties also include outreach service at approved UW Health locations, as well as inpatient call coverage.
* Includes protected time, 30-40% for CHS, to develop a research program, develop a teaching program and to engage in scholarly activities.
* Teaching medical students and fellows within the context of your clinical practice
* Proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants
* Leadership positions in the division and/or UWCCC may be available to appropriate candidates.

Clinical research is conducted in the UWCCC by 22 multi-disciplinary Disease Oriented Teams and is supported by the UWCCC Clinical Research Central Office on the main campus. Over 70 UWCCC investigators regularly enroll patients to therapeutic intervention trials at our UWCCC clinical sites. We are a member of the NCCN, ECOG- ACRIN, Alliance, BigTen Cancer Research Consortium, Wisconsin Oncology Network (WON) and Wisconsin Association of Hematology and Oncology (WAHO).

The Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology & Palliative Care is part of the Department of Medicine and the NCI-designated UW Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Division is active in all phases of cancer therapy development and evaluation. Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
MD, DO or equivalent.

Qualifications:

* Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in medical oncology and/or hematology

* Clinical and research interest in medical oncology and/or malignant hematology is required.

* Candidates for associate professor or professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines on the Clinical Health Services or Clinician Teacher track.

License/Certification:

Required
MD - Physician - State Licensure
Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with Certification in Hematology/Medical Oncology. Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License.

Must be Board eligible or certified in Medical Oncology and/or dual boarded in Hematology and Medical Oncology

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
