Job Description Summary

Wentworth Institute for Technology seeks a Head Coach, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country / Mixed Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field .

This is a full-time, 12-month position . The position requires flexible hours, nights, and weekends. Hybrid work schedule available with most of the work completed on campus. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license

The ideal candidate is responsible for the organization, management, and leadership of all aspects of the NCAA Division III men’s and women’s cross country/mixed track & field programs. Responsibilities include:
  • developing and implementing strategies that identify, recruit and matriculate qualified student-athletes
  • managing the academic, athletic, and personal development of student athletes
  • building a positive, inclusive, and equitable environment that enriches the student athlete experience
  • organizing and facilitating practice and meet preparation to enhance the team’s performance.
  • hiring, supervising and developing the assistant coaching staff
  • coordinating team travel, managing meet scheduling, and working in concert with Alumni Affairs on alumni relations.
Candidates must be fiscally responsible and able to manage and maintain an operational budget that includes team fundraising to help supplement overall operations; recommending and assisting in the purchase of equipment, and assisting with the annual operating budget request for XC/Track & Field programs. Additionally, candidates:
  • will serve as game administrator for select home events.
  • are responsible for knowing and complying with all University, NCAA, conference and department policy and protocols.
  • must possess strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with athletic department coaches and staff, as well as internal and external constituents.
