Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Finance Analyst, the Budget Analyst II is responsible for analyzing budget proposals, determining funding allocations, defending budget recommendations with various stakeholders, and forecasting future financial requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Performance Requirements*
- Prepares budget expenditure analysis, develops of the annual District budget, and participates in budget planning and review
- Maintains budget forms, budget guide and calendar
- Maintains spreadsheets and prepares budget entries of new funding requests and reallocations
- Prepares budget reports, schedules, and presentation materials
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of documentation
- Assists department staff with budget and expenditure inquiries
- Communicates and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Responds to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
- Notifies supervisor about potential problems or unusual events
Service Excellence
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College ( TCC ) Institute
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Senor Finance Analyst

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two (2) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
- Current Certified Budget Specialist ( CBS ) Certification
- Experience working in a higher-education setting
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques and best practices
- Skilled organizing, analyzing, and problem-solving with attention to detail
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
- Skilled using enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to work with a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work flexibly on several tasks simultaneously and meet various concurrent deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
