Salary for Announcement
The salary range for this position is $45,300 – $56,700. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
The above salary ranges represent the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the ranges of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU Denver offers a full benefits package.

Position Summary
This position supports the Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Studies and provides backup support to the Office of Academic Affairs.
The AVP of Undergraduate Studies is responsible for academic and support services designed to help students persist and graduate in a timely fashion, including Academic Advising Systems, Center for Individualized Learning, Civic and Community Engagement, the Honors Program, Office of International Studies, Undergraduate Research, the Writing Center, Supplemental Instruction and Tutoring.
Undergraduate Studies also supports the development and implementation of initiatives based on AASCU’s American Democracy Project; the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities’ Anchor Learning Network, and high-impact teaching practices.

Duties/Responsibilities
Support to the Associate Vice President (75%) :
- Manages outbound and inbound correspondence; some requiring mail merge and database familiarity.
- Serves as support staff for a variety of meetings. Requests agenda items for meetings, takes minutes, develops action items for follow-up, finalizes material and schedules presentations as appropriate.
- Coordinates logistics for the AVP as assigned including scheduling appointments, ensuring events are well-coordinated, catering and meal reservations are made at appropriate locations and times.
- Serves as administrative support to the AVP in professional organization positions as needed.
- Coordinates with Fiscal Manager regarding all reimbursement and fiscal expenditures for the AVP . Supports fiscal projects and works with spreadsheets as needed.
- Interacts with programs and centers that are supervised by the AVP .
- Monitors budgets and expenditures for centers and programs supervised by the AVP .
- Utilize the Chrome River travel system to provide Travel Authorizations and reimbursements.
- Provides email support to the AVP including prioritizing and responding to emails sent to the individual websites as requested.
- Provides calendar support for the AVP ensuring that meeting requests are completed in a timely fashion, vetted in an appropriate manner, and clearly presented to the AVP .
- Provide administrative support for the Undergraduate Research Conference.
- Provides administrative support and assistance with programs as needed.
Administrative (15%) :
- Provides back-up support for the management of the office on a daily basis, including managing the front desk, greeting visitors, answering phones, and supervising student assistants, as needed.
- Serves as a liaison to the Provost’s and President’s offices, as needed.
Other Duties as Assigned (10%)
Required Qualifications
- Three years of administrative assistant experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience working as a full-time staff member in an institution of higher education.
- Experience supporting a senior level administrator such as a Dean, CEO, Vice President, or President.
- Experience taking minutes at meetings.
- Experience maintaining confidentiality and working with sensitive information.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Ellucian’s Banner system.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality ( FERPA, HIPAA, GAAP, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and problem solve.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions appropriate to the position.
- Experience working in a diverse environment.
Monday – Friday 8-5, some remote work possible
