Director of Interdisciplinary Leadership Program (Assistant/Associate Professor)

Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position for the Director of Interdisciplinary Leadership doctoral program (EdD) starting Fall 2022. 

We seek candidates who meet the following requirements:

• Doctorate degree. Preference for degree in Leadership. Candidates with significant leadership coursework and/or scholarship and a doctorate in Business, Communication, Education, or Organizational leadership are encouraged to apply.
• Competency and interest in teaching a variety of doctoral leadership courses
• Leadership experience in higher education (department chair, program director, dean)
• Experience teaching research courses (graduate level, preferred)
• Expertise in online, asynchronous teaching (using Brightspace is a plus)
• Commitment to excellence in the teaching and advisement of graduate students
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Ability to work collegially with other faculty members in the department and across campus
• Understanding and support of the mission of Texas Lutheran University
• Evidence of and commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration in developing curriculum and scholarship 

In addition to the above requirements, preference will be given to candidates offering the following specific skills:

• Experience chairing or leading students through the dissertation process
• Development and implementation of an interdisciplinary program
• Experience teaching graduate courses in leadership or management (doctoral level a plus)
• Leading/directing a doctoral level program
• Organizing and managing face-to-face doctoral residencies 

The Interdisciplinary Leadership Program Director’s responsibilities include:

• leading the EdD program in Interdisciplinary Leadership
• teaching a two-two-three load (fall, spring, summer)
• designing and leading on-campus residencies
• coordination of dissertations (proposals and defenses)
• assisting the department chair in hiring and mentoring adjunct faculty and course staffing
• providing direct contact to newly admitted students
• advising students
• other duties as needed 

This is a 12-month, tenure-track, on-campus director position in Seguin, Texas which requires leading the EdD program, teaching short-term face-to-face residencies, and asynchronous courses through the college approved LMS.
