Merchandise Manager - Campus Store
Position Category: Staff - Full-Time
Summary:
The Campus Store at UVU is seeking a Merchandise Manager to oversee the buying of all general merchandise. Supervises full-time technology and supplies/trade buyers in addition to several part-time assistant buyers and specialists. Procures all apparel, backpacks, emblematic, gifts, and memorabilia. Provides daily excellent customer service for students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, vendors and various departments across campus. Coordinates campus graduation fair in collaboration with Alumni, Graduation, and Marketing Alumni departments. Responsible for marketing displays and events including athletic concession stores. Maintains profitability following industry benchmarks. Administers campus licensing in compliance with CLC standards and University Licensing. Maintains records and reviews, analyzes, and evaluates department budget within area of responsibility. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Retail, or Accounting or a similar field of study plus three years of experience related to the summary of duties or a combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling seven years. Previous supervisory experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and personal experience with current technology trends
- Knowledge of display and retail
- Knowledge and experience with a retail management system helpful
- Skills with supervision and interpersonal communication
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills providing customer service
- Skills in marketing and promotional
- Ability to use computer applications including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, & Teams
- Ability to communicate in writing and orally
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Preferred Qualifications:
MBS and/or NetSuite experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, sit, move to set up displays. Requires lifting of greater than 25 lbs.

Pay Range: $39,064 - $48,831 DOE
