Utah Valley University is looking for two Marketing and Communications managers to represent two of our ever-growing colleges, College of Health and Public Service (CHPS) and College of Science (COS). This is an embedded position that operates under the purview of UVU's central Marketing and Communications department and serves as the dedicated manager to the portfolio of the College. This position will work collaboratively with University Marketing and Communications, which operates as a full-service agency within the university.

This team member will work with the dean of the college to understand immediate and long-term marketing goals. This position manages the college's digital and traditional marketing workflow and develops communication strategies for micro-campaigns, university initiatives, and events. This individual will be responsible for creating content (written and designed) and coordinating digital and traditional marketing efforts across various platforms. Digital platforms will include social media, digital signage, email marketing, and paid search.

This team member will be required to stay up on accomplishments, projects, and events within the area and communicate this information to appropriate internal and external parties. The team member will also gather newsworthy information about the school, departments, students, faculty, and staff, and develop and maintain a social media presence for these groups. They will alert the program directors of community, social media, and business trends or developments that impact the college's initiatives.

What you'll be doing:
  • Generates both marketing and written content for a variety of platforms (including but not limited to brochures, magazines, newsletters, news articles and releases, advertisements, video scripts, websites, and social media) and to a variety of constituents.
  • Plans, creates, executes, and measures effectiveness of marketing plans and accompanying collateral. Investigates and develops student and faculty success stories for use in internal and external Marketing and Communications material.
  • The marketing administration side of this role involves project management, creation of strategy or creative briefs, campaign setup and optimization, promotional activities, and media/ad-buying efforts in coordination with University Marketing and Communications.
  • Coordinates and implements SEO best practices and collaborates with area web managers to optimize program pages.
  • Coordinates with University Marketing and Communications to execute digital advertising.
  • Monitors and optimizes efforts using data and analytics. Manages integrated marketing strategies and tactics in collaboration with the University Marketing and Communications department.
  • Vets the achievements of the college and schools for newsworthiness and prepares them for potential publication. Works closely with University Marketing and Communications to coordinate news coverage and monitor resultant coverage.
  • Assists in the design and coordinates the production process of the college's marketing collateral while adhering to university style and branding standards.
  • Drives the college's social media presence and initiatives. Creates, publishes, and monitors social media content. Builds and interacts with the college's social media community in collaboration with the university's social media efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus one to two years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling five years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Evidence of current knowledge of digital marketing platforms and best practices.
* Experience in event marketing.* Expertise in social media strategy and implementation by managing and optimizing campaigns to achieve objectives.* Ability to analyze marketing data and digital analytics to guide decisions.* Knowledge of basic graphic design principles and applications, including Adobe products.
* Versatile writing skills.
* Strong strategic thinking skills.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Collaborative style, ability to build rapport, and work effectively in teams.* Must be able to work independently.*Highly organized with strong attention to detail.*Basic web knowledge of CMS or HTML.*Ability to prioritize and manage work.*Ability to work cross-functionally with public relations, writing, creative teams, and community partners to amplify the priorities and goals of the college.

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus two to three years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling seven years.

Physical Requirements:
Physically able to perform typical office environment responsibilities.

Pay Range: $46,240 - $61,730
