Job Description: 

Longwood's Department of English and Modern Languages invites applications for part-time faculty to teach in its English program, to begin August 2022.  

The successful candidate will embrace the opportunity to work closely with students. Professional responsibilities include teaching freshman composition courses. Class size is 18 for freshman composition courses. Salary is $3500 per three-credit course. There will be a need for adjuncts in Spring 2023 as well. 

 

Requirements: 

Minimum requirement of 18 hours of graduate credit in English; MA in English preferred. Candidates should have experience, training, or coursework in composition pedagogy and demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching.

These positions are part-time, instructional faculty, exempt positions. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany these positions. A successful criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
