Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, non-unit position with no benefits.
The candidate will coach, supervise and develop an intercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assist the Head Coach in all of the following duties:
  • Assist in establishing team goals for season and ensure that they are in line with those of the entire MassBay Athletic program;
  • Responsible for recruiting and training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport and for attending practices and games;
  • Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations;
  • Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility;
  • Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season;
  • Represent the university and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college-sanctioned programs such as open houses);
  • Assist with game day set-up and breakdown.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Experience coaching soccer at a competitive level.

  • Experience working in a diverse environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
  • Recruiting experience.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $5,000 per season
