Coordinate the operation of an assigned university academic or clinical program or office.
ResponsibilitiesFamilyWorks is an active, full-service mental health clinic serving Lowndes County, Valdosta, VSU, and surrounding communities. As such, the clinic requires a clinically trained, certified, and licensed supervisor who is consistently (40-hours a week) present onsite to oversee daily clinic operations, supervise and support student interns who are conducting sessions, ensure that legal and ethical standards and practices are upheld, oversee intake and termination processes, and scheduling. The Program Coordinator is an integral part of the Marriage and Family Therapy faculty, who works collaboratively with the faculty and the Program Director to ensure that FamilyWorks is maintaining COAMFTE accreditation requirements, safety protocols, and HIPAA regulations. In addition, the Program Coordinator works with students to ensure they accrue the client contact and supervision hours required for graduation, secure off-campus internship placements, fulfil licensure requirements, and complete licensure applications. Finally, the Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the staffing of the intake office as well as the maintenance and upkeep of the physical space and the electronic equipment needed to run the clinic.
Typical Allocation of Duties:
Coordinate operations to accomplish program/office
objectives - 40%
Develop policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the efficient
accomplishment of program/office objectives. Direct office/program
operations.
Coordinate with others - 20%
Coordinate program/office activities with appropriate internal and
external stakeholders. Represent program priorities before the
larger university community.
Manage budget and personnel - 20%
Manage budget and control expenditures as assigned. Train, assign,
direct, supervise, evaluate, and discipline personnel as
assigned.
Reporting - 10%
Prepare a variety of regular and special reports. Maintain
program/office files and records.
Provide services - 10%
Participate in the provision of direct services.
Required Experience
Master's degree in clinical or program field and three (3) years of
related work experience.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).
Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.
