The Dean of Students/Director of Student Life serves as COTC/Ohio State Newark’s senior student affairs officer and reports directly to the President (COTC) and the Dean/Director (Ohio State Newark). The Dean of Students/Director of Student Life works collaboratively with senior leadership to create a campus culture that promotes student success, provides a safe and welcoming campus environment for a diverse student body, and fosters a sense of community among the students. The Dean/Director is specifically responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of the Division of Student Life.
65% - Provides leadership and strategic direction to all student life units including counseling services, multicultural affairs, and recreational sports. Develops programs, services and policies that enhance the quality of the student experience. Budget manager for Student Life and all student affairs facilities.
10% - Designing and administering Welcome Programs for Oho State Newark and COTC including Convocation and Welcome Week. Coordinates the housing move-in day process.
5% - Ensures compliance with federal, state and university regulations and policies.
5% - Receives, reviews, and processes any ADA/504 compliance and/or complaint matters.
5% - Administers all aspects of the COTC Italian Immersion Program including the selection, facilitation, and planning processes.
5% - Facilitating the Parking Appeals Response Committee (PARC).
5% - Representing the College and University and the President of COTC and the Dean/Director of OSU Newark in community events that deal with student matters and activities, and state and federal organizations and activities.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s Degree in student affairs, higher education, education, counseling, or related field.
Experience: Extensive directly related experience in a higher education environment.

Supervises: Eight direct reports.
