The University of North Alabama (UNA) invites applications for an Associate Director of the Center for Women’s Studies/Lecturer. This position is a nine-month, non-tenure-track appointment. The Associate Director oversees the daily operations of the Center for Women’s Studies (including administrative tasks) and works closely with the director in planning and implementing programs, exhibits, and activities sponsored by the center. Additionally, this position will teach a 3/2 course load. The course load includes teaching and developing new courses in the candidate's area of specialization, including online courses, courses for the Women’s Studies minor, and other courses as appropriate.  Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and participation in a student-centered culture. Completion of a terminal degree in any of the disciplines within the College of Arts, Sciences, & Engineering by August 15, 2022 is required. Candidates with a specialization in women's & gender studies will be given priority.  Candidates with field specializations in the following are preferred: cinematic arts & theatre, criminal justice, music, fashion merchandising/design, interior architecture/design, or social work.  Applicants with a terminal degree and specialization(s) in a field closely-related to women's & gender studies will also be considered.

Transcripts with a designation of “Issued to Student”, or with the student name listed as the recipient will not be considered official. Official transcripts will be required of the successful candidate prior to the start date of the appointment, but unofficial copies will be accepted for the application process.
