Job Summary

The Coordinator II, Facility Operations and Membership Sales coordinates the day-to-day operations of recreation facilities, rentals, maintenance and both URWC and Aquatic Center memberships.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Develops, plans and implements trainings, programs, meetings, and activities within area of responsibility.
  • Hires, supervises, and trains all student staff members that support operations.
  • Oversees all membership sales, promotions and billing for both URWC and Aquatics Center memberships.
  • Collects and analyzes data to assess and evaluate programs and initiatives.
  • Aids in oversight of financial management of Facility Operations budgets.
  • Schedules facilities for campus recreation activities. Conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure safety.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, evaluation, and compliance of risk management procedures.
  • Assists with purchasing and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Monitors expenditures, researches purchase options, and creates requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Assists with various special event programs for department
  • Assists in establishing and implementing procedures within area of assigned responsibility.
  • Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus
Other Duties
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Serves on assigned Campus Recreation and university work teams or committees as needed.
Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or closely related field.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or able to obtain within three months of employment.
  • Two years of full-time professional experience related to the position.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or closely related field.
  • Two years of full-time professional experience in higher education campus recreation related to the position.
  • Experience scheduling and supervising the work of student employees.
  • Experience and proficiency with recreation management software, such as Innosoft Fusion, CSI, or similar.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of recreation, intramural sports, and fitness programming.
  • Knowledge of student intellectual, emotional and social development theory, techniques and research.
  • Knowledge of risk management standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles including promotion, fundraising, and public relations.
  • Knowledge of budget control principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.
  • Demonstrated skill with scheduling and logistics coordination.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of colleagues, students, and the general public.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures consistently.
  • Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance, and motivation.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary
  • Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes equity and inclusion.
Salary Range: $37,300 to Negotiable
