seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of English with a
specialization in First-Year Writing and Professional and Technical
Writing, Tenure-track, beginning August 2018.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate teaching
effectiveness, as well as an active research agenda through a
history of conference presentations and articles submitted for
publication. The department is especially interested in candidates
whose record of scholarship explores how first-year composition
and/or PTW intersects with issues of race, gender, sexuality, and
able-bodiedness. Responsibilities include teaching four courses per
semester in first-year writing and/or professional and technical
writing, advising students, maintaining an active scholarly agenda,
and participating in university and department activities.
Ph.D., in hand by August 15, 2018, in English, Composition,
Rhetoric, Professional/Technical Writing, or an equivalent in a
closely related area.

letters of recommendation, a Statement of Teaching Philosophy, and
graduate and undergraduate transcripts will be required prior to an
