Athletics invites applications for two (2) Events Managers to join their team. The main responsibilities of the Athletic Event Manager-Sports are coordinating Grizzly Athletics events including football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and track. Additionally, the Event Manager will maintain the internal operation's payroll roster and hiring/termination process for all part-time event staff. The Event Manager is expected to work independently as well as collaboratively with the Internal Operations team. The Event Manager will frequently work nights and weekends for events. The Event Manager-Sports will supervise part-time event staff for all athletics events. Additionally, they will recruit, manage the hiring/termination paperwork and record payroll for all part-time staff.

The Events Manager-Rentals will manage the Department's outside rentals and to maintain accurate venue schedules for all athletic ran facilities. The Event Manager will coordinate all aspects of outside rentals including scheduling, contracting, venue preparation, staffing, and invoicing. The Event Manager will oversee guest services, Split-the-Pot and IMG seating program on Grizzly football game days. The Event Manager is expected to work independently as well as collaboratively with the internal operations team. The Event Manager-Rentals will supervise part-time event staff for all rental events. They will work as part of the internal operation team to recruit part-time staff, help with the hiring process, train employees for specific rental events, and record & report payroll hours to the internal operations payroll manager. The Event Manager will frequently work nights and weekends for larger rental events and for Grizzly Football game days.

Athletic Department employees and those University employees outside the Athletic Department with NCAA rules compliance responsibilities are subject at all times to NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance. Failure to conduct oneself as such will result in disciplinary or corrective action up to and including immediate discharge.

Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have developed a working knowledge and ability in:
  • Knowledge of personnel procedures
  • Ability to operate a variety of software programs
  • Ability to maintain an extensive payroll roster of seasonal employees

Minimum Required Experience
  • High School diploma and two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with campus software such as Banner, EPAF, UApprove, and GTO.

Position Details

Position Title: Events/Promo Coord II

Position Number: NEW

Department: Athletics

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year

Salary: $16.885/hrCurrent employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department .

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
